This recipe comes from Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook, Feasting with Your Slow Cooker (this particular recipe is courtesy of Irma H. Schoen). My mom has the book and I had to snag a few recipes from it while visiting her. So I've not tried this recipe, but I sure want to. (Must get my broken crock pot replaced! Anyone have recommendations for a new one?) Ingredients:
1 medium red cabbage or 1 medium green cabbage, shredded |
2 onions, chopped |
4 tart apples, pared, quartered |
1/2 cup raisins |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
1/4 cup cider or 1/4 cup apple juice |
2 tablespoons honey |
1 tablespoon caraway seed |
1/8 teaspoon allspice |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. 1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. 2. 2. Cook on high 3-5 hours, depending on how crunchy or soft you want the cabbage and onions. |
