This recipe was given to my grandfather from a Chinese restaurant owner! We have always used it with pork button ribs but I am certain would be awesome with any type of pork or chicken. Ingredients:
4 pork chops (or ribs, chicken to serve 4) |
3 -4 stalks celery |
1 onion |
1 green pepper |
1 red pepper |
1/4 cup soy sauce (gf or regular) |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup vinegar |
1/2 cup water |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup water |
4 tablespoons cornstarch |
Directions:
1. Fry chops, ribs or chicken, then place in casserole dish. 2. Top with veggies (chopped into big chunks). 3. Add soy sauce and 1 cup water to pan. 4. In a small pot - boil vinegar, water and sugar for 10 minutes Then add to soy sauce/water in pan. 5. Combine cornstarch and water - add to liquid in frying pan and heat to thicken. 6. Pour sauce over pork/veggies. 7. Cover and bake 350°F for 1 hour. 8. Serve over rice. |
