a recipe from a ground beef cookbook. this is a microwave recipe. Ingredients:
1 egg |
5 tablespoons ketchup, divided |
2 tablespoons prepared mustard |
1/2 cup breadcrumbs |
2 tablespoons onion soup mix |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 lb ground beef |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons cider vinegar |
Directions:
1. in a bowl, lightly beat the egg. 2. add 2 tablespoons of ketchup, mustard, bread crumbs, soup mix , salt and pepper. 3. crumble beef over mixture . 4. mix well. 5. shape into an oval loaf. 6. place in a shallow 1 quart microwave-safe dish. 7. cover with waxed paper. 8. microwave on high for 11-12 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, rotating a half turn once. 9. drain. 10. in a small bowl, combine the sugars, vinegar and remaining ketchup. 11. drizzle over the meat loaf. 12. cover and microwave on high for 3-5 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. 13. let meat loaf stand for 10 minutes, bnefore slicing. |
