My oldest friend gave me this simple and delectable cookie recipe in 1962, and I make it every year for the Christmas season. The cookies are not as heavy as many butter cookies. Light and delicious. Ingredients:
1 lb butter, melted |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
4 cups flour (sifted) |
1 tablespoon vanilla (optional) |
Directions:
1. Mix ingredients well, chill until dough is firm. 2. Press cookies through a cookie press or roll out into small balls, then flatten into 1 inch rounds. 3. Place cookies on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees until they start to look a bit browned, about ten minutes or so. |
