Terrific for give-aways during the holidays! Ingredients:
1/2 lb walnut pieces |
1/2 lb pecan pieces |
1 cup sugar |
1/2-1 cup butter |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
2 egg whites |
Directions:
1. Lightly brown nuts on 10 x 15 pan in 325 degree oven for 20 minutes. 2. Beat egg whites stiff and add salt& sugar. 3. Melt butter in pan in oven. 4. Stir browned nuts into meringue mixture. 5. Place nut mixture on buttered pan and bake at 325 for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. 6. Ready when brown and no butter remains in pan. 7. Let cool and enjoy! |
