An excellent recipe to take to a potluck supper! Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1 1/2 lbs ground pork |
1 onion, minced |
2 boiled mashed potatoes |
2 cups breadcrumbs |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 crushed bay leaf |
2 eggs |
1/4 cup flour |
1/4 cup butter |
1 dash clove |
1 dash cinnamon |
1/4 cup butter |
1/4 cup flour |
3 cups stock |
1 cup cream |
1 pinch salt |
browning sauce, to colour |
Directions:
1. Saute onion. 2. Combine potato, meat, crumbs, eggs and seasonings. 3. Add onion. 4. Shape in 1 inch balls. 5. Roll in flour. 6. Brown. 7. GRAVY: Melt butter. 8. Add flour. 9. Mix over heat, and add stock, cream and salt and browning. 10. Simmer 4-5 minutes Pour over Meatballs. 11. Cook meatballs and gravy together 40-50 mins. |
