This was my Mom's favorite meatball recipe Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs lean ground beef |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 1/2 cups italian seasoned breadcrumbs |
1.5 (1 ounce) packets onion soup mix |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
2 onions, sliced fine |
1 cup ketchup, mixed with 3/4 cups of water |
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce |
3/4 cup splenda sugar substitute (or sugar) |
1 tablespoon coffee, diluted in 1 cup water |
4 tablespoons vinegar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Meatballs:. 2. Mix dry ingredients together. 3. Combine well meat, eggs and dry ingredient mix. 4. Roll in the palm of your hands a quarter to loonie size balls. 5. Put into a lightly greased pan. 6. Preheat oven at 350 and cook for 30 minutes. 7. Drain and add to sauce in the crock-pot. 8. Sauce:. 9. While meat is cooking, combine all ingredients in a crockpot. 10. Cook in crock-pot on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally. |
