This is a shamefully easy recipe -I took it to a library fundraiser and everyone raved and wanted the recipe. The people could not beleive how easy it was to make such a...masterfully tastey bar cookie. Ingredients:
1 yellow cake mix |
1/2 c. chopped nuts-whatever you prefer |
1/4 c. butter |
1 egg |
a jar of jam - whatever you prefer - apricot is popular as is raspberry |
drizzle frosting |
powdered sugar |
2 t. water and some almond extract |
you be the judge of how much you wish to drizzle over the top of cookies. you do not want a lot. |
Directions:
1. Mix the cake mix, nuts, butter and egg together and spread on the bottom of a jellyroll pan. Spread the jam over the cake mixture. Bake at ~350 'til jam is bubbly. Prepare the frosting and drizzle over cookies while warm. |
