Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon water |
1 tablespoon vanilla extract |
1 1/4 cups ground almonds |

Directions:
1. Cream shortening and butter at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add 1 cup confectioners sugar and salt; mix well. 2. Stir in flour. Add water, vanilla extract and almonds, stirring well. 3. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten. Bake at 325 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until done. 4. Dredge warm cookies in confectioners' sugar. |
