I've been making these for 30 years! (Yipes!) They are a nice soft cookie. I love them with milk or coffee. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 1/2 cups butter |
2 large eggs |
1 1/2 tablespoons molasses |
1/2 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon clove |
1 teaspoon allspice |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 dash salt |
4 teaspoons baking soda |
4 cups flour |
additional sugar |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and molasses. 2. Stir in spices and soda. 3. Mix in flour. 4. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and then in sugar. 5. Place 2-inches apart on cookie sheets. 6. Bake in 350° oven for 10-11 minutes until golden brown. |
