This cookie can have many different favored centers.. One of my favorite is a chocolate mint but let your imagination be your guide.. The recipe is from a Land o' Lakes Cookie pamphlet.. Ingredients:
2/3 cup sugar |
1 cup butter, softened |
1 egg |
1/2 teasp. salt |
1 teasp. vanilla or almond extract (or one of your choice) i use vanilla |
2 1/4 cup flour |
centers |
chocolate mint candy, large chocolate chip, candied cherries, gum drops, chocolate covered nuts, etc |
Directions:
1. beat at med speed: sugar, butter, egg, salt and the extract of choice 2. until well mixed 3. add flour and beat for 1 min 4. put cookie dough around your choice of centers and roll into a ball. If dough feels too soft put in refrigerator for 1/2 hour or so. 5. bake at 350' for 15-18 mins on a lightly greased cookie sheet. 6. when cool put in a bag and coat with confectionary sugar. 7. or drizzle with some melted semi-sweet chocolate |
