Very good appetizers. They kind of taste like they are barbecued. Ingredients:
1 egg (slightly beaten) |
1 lb ground chuck |
1/4 cup minced onion |
1/4 cup breadcrumbs |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, well drained and cut in half |
1 cup catsup |
1 cup grape jelly |
Directions:
1. Combine meat, beaten egg, bread crumbs and pepper. 2. Make into 1 to 1-1/4 inch meatballs, pressing 1/2 of a cherry into each meatball. 3. Brown meatballs. 4. For Sauce: Stir catsup into grape jelly in a medium saucepan. 5. Heat and stir till melted. 6. Add browned meatballs. 7. Cook on very low heat for about 1 hour. 8. Serve hot or cold. |
