a terriffic dish, great for leftovers. Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground beef |
1 onion, chopped |
1 red sweet bell pepper, chopped |
2 celery ribs, chopped |
2 garlic cloves, finely minced |
1 (32 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce |
3 (6 ounce) jars sliced mushrooms, drained |
1/2 teaspoon ground oregano |
1 teaspoon italian seasoning |
salt, to taste |
pepper, to taste |
1 (8 ounce) package medium egg noodles |
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened |
1 pint sour cream |
1 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1 (16 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese |
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, brown beef, onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic, and drain well. 2. Add spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, and seasonings, and heat to a boil. 3. Turn heat down and simmer for about 15 minutes. 4. Cook noodles according to package directions, and drain. 5. With electric mixer, beat cream cheese until creamy and add sour cream and cheeses. 6. Butter deep 11x14 inch baking dish. 7. Layer half the noodles, half of beef mixture, and half the cheeses. 8. Repeat layers. 9. Bake covered at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. 10. Remove covering and bake an additional 10-15 minutes. |
