SUPERB CRANBERRY SAUCE WITH APPLES AND PEARS |

Ingredients:
2 tablespoon(s) cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon(s) allspice |
1/4 teaspoon(s) cloves |
2 1/4 cup(s) fresh cranberries |
3/4 + 1 t cup(s) orange juice |
1 1/2 whole(s) gala apples, peeled and diced |
1 1/2 whole(s) bosc pears, peeled and diced |
1 + 2t cup(s) white sugar |
1/4 + 2t cup(s) brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Place the spices onto the center of an 8 square of cheesecloth, gather and tie with twine. Place the sachet into a large saucepan along with the cranberries and orange juice. Bring to a boil over high heat, and cook until the berries begin to burst, about 10 minutes. 2. Stir in the apples, pears, and sugars. Return to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer about 25 minutes until apples and pears are slightly soft. Remove and discard sachet. Scrape the sauce into a bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight. Serve cold. |
