Necessity is the mother of Invention. Well I didn't really NEED the bear claw, but I really wanted one ;) So I came up with these! Ingredients:
1 can flaky type refridgerator biscuits |
1 jar almond pie filling (i used baker's) - note: i did not use almond paste |
1 egg - beaten |
sliced almonds |
granulated sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven according to baking directions for biscuits. 2. Open can of biscuits and lay them on an ungreased cookie sheet. 3. Pull each biscuit apart so that you have a top and a bottom. 4. Place a dollop of pie filling in the center of the bottom half. 5. Place top half back on and press edges together gently to re-seal. 6. Using a small knife, make 2 cuts so that the biscuits look like they have fingers or claws . 7. Brush each biscuit with the egg wash. 8. Sprinkle the tops of the biscuits with the sliced almonds. 9. Lightly sprinkly the tops of the biscuits with the sugar. 10. Bake according to directions for biscuits (15-20min). |
