From Bettina Chin at Madison Middle School. Ingredients:
1/2 cup water |
1/4 cup margarine |
1/4 cup flour |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
2 eggs |
2 1/2 cups cooked chicken, chopped |
1 (8 ounce) jar cheez whiz, spread |
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained |
1 cup celery, sliced |
sliced almonds, for topping |
Directions:
1. Bring water and margarine to a boil. Add flour and salt; stir vigorously over low heat. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Spread batter on bottom of greased 9-inch pie plate. Bake at 400* for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Loosen shell from rim of pan; cool before removing. Combine chicken and cheese spread in saucepan; heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally. Add oranges and celery. Spoon chicken mixture into shell; top with almonds. |
