this aromatic cake puts the sun on your table - makes you think of summer! Ingredients:
for the short-crust pastry |
200 g flour |
100 g butter |
40 gr sugar |
1 egg |
pinch of salt |
some butter for the spring form |
for the filling |
4 - 6 oranges, depending on size |
60 g butter |
60 g confectioners sugar |
2 eggs |
1 - 2 corn starch or similar |
300 gr crème fraîche |
1/2 teaspon anis powder |
Directions:
1. make dough, wrap in plastic foil, put in fridge for about 30 minutes. in the meantime, 2. preheat oven to 175° CENTIGRADE 3. ofen vorheizen auf 175° 4. peel oranges, be sure to remove all white skin 5. then 6. either cut filets of the oranges, or thin slices (i think they look prettier on the cake) 7. stir together butter, confectioners sugar, eggs. starch, crème fraîche , anis powder. 8. roll out largest portion of dough thinly for base, 9. line springform sides with remainder of dough 10. poor the mixture (i sometimes add some Grand Marnier) 11. onto the dough, spreading evenly, then arrange orange slices or filets. 12. put into oven for approx. 35 minutes. 13. remove, let cool 14. now you may either let it cool completely, power it with some of the confectioners sugar and serve with whipped cream 'scented' with Grand Marnier, 15. or serve it slightly warm with some ice-cream. 16. ahhhhh - the aroma will drive you crazy. bet you cannot let it get cold :-) |
