This has a different twist to the old faithful mac and cheese...Im always looking for something different and this had just the right touch... Ingredients:
16 oz elbow macaroni |
salt |
2 pints sour cream |
16 oz cottage cheese |
1 cup thinly sliced scallions |
2 teaspoons worcesterchire sauce |
1 cup grated cheddar cheese |
2 whole scallions, garnish |
Directions:
1. Add 2 tablespoons salt to 4 to 6 quarts rapidly boiling water; add macaroni gradually. 2. Cook , uncovered, stirring occasionally , until tender; drain. 3. Combine macaroni, sour cream, cottage cheese, sliced scalllions, 1 teaspoon salt and remaining seasonings. 4. Mix well. 5. Turn into a 3 quart greased casserole, covered. 6. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. 7. Uncover, sprinkle Cheddar cheese around edges of casserole and bake for 10 to 15 minutes longer. 8. Garnish with whole scallions. 9. Yeild: 8 to 10 servings. |
