A slow cooker stew perfect for a brisk evening! Prep is and let it simmer all day! A mix of delicious flavors. Ingredients:
12 small red potatoes, halved |
1 pound carrots, sliced |
1 large onion, chopped |
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into bite sized pieces |
1/3 cup butter |
1 cup water |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon dried parsley |
1-2 stalks celery, chopped |
1 small can sliced mushrooms |
1 small yellow zucchini, sliced |
1 small yellow squash, sliced |
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Place potatoes, carrots, onion, zucchini, squash, mushrooms and celery in slow cooker. 2. Brown beef in butter in a separate pan. 3. Remove browned beef from butter with a spoon and add to slow cooker. 4. Stir flour into pan of butter until well blended. 5. Gradually add water to flour mix. Boil, thicken. 6. Add salt, parsley, thyme, pepper. Stir well. 7. Pour mixture over beef. 8. Cover. Cook on Low for 8-9 hours (or High 4-5 hours). |
