Sultana Caramel Self Saucing Pudding |

Another recipe from my mother, a lovely winter pudding. Comfort food at it's best! Ingredients:
2 ounces butter |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 cup sultana |
1 teaspoon vanilla essence |
1 1/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
2 ounces butter |
1 1/2 cups water |
Directions:
1. To make the sauce put sugar, butter and water in pan and bring to boil. 2. Put aside. 3. Cream butter and sugar. 4. Add egg and vanilla essence and beat well. 5. Sift in dry ingrediants and add sultanas. 6. If dry may need a little milk. 7. Put the hot sauce into pudding dish, spoon cake mixture on top. 8. Bake at 350 deg F for approx 45 mins. 9. Serve with cream or ice cream. |
