This is a recipe I grew up eating. This is my step-moms and it's so easy and delicious! Always a hit whenever I make it!! A great change of pace from just regular spaghetti. I use ground turkey low fat cheese and whole grain noodles... but if you chose to switch it's just as good :) Also I usually season the meat with garlic powder and whatever Italian seasonings you have on hand and a dash of pepper. Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey breast, seasoned |
8 ounces tomato sauce |
6 ounces whole grain spaghetti noodles |
6 ounces cottage cheese |
1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese |
1 egg |
Directions:
1. Boil noodles until al dente while browning seasoned meat. 2. Drain noodles and Meat. 3. Pour noodles into a baking dish and add the egg. Mix well. 4. Layer: Meat, cottage cheese, tomato sauce, and then shredded cheese. 5. Bake at 375F for about 20 or so minutes (until cheese is completely melted.). 6. Let cool for about 5 minutes before cutting and serving. ENJOY! |
