I have not tried this recipe. I got this recipe from Ossg Recipes. This recipe is from Golden Anniversary Cookbook (50 years of recipes from our state's (OK) Home Ec Extension office). Ingredients:
1 cup raisins |
1/2 cup dates, chopped |
1 cup boiling water |
1/4 cup oil |
1 egg, well beaten |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1 tablespoon baking soda |
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup oatmeal (uncooked) |
1/4 tablespoon salt |
Directions:
1. Boil raisins, dates and water for 3 minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Add oil, egg. 2. and vanilla. Mix. Add dry ingredients (which have been mixed together). 3. Mix thoroughly. Chill in refrigerator. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie. 4. sheet. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. 6. Artificial sweetener may be added to make cookies sweeter, but they are good and more healthful with only the fruit as sweetener. |
