One of those addictive nibbles that can be added to so many dishes. Great in spinach salads, terrific chopped on top of cream pies, super all by themselves with a cocktail. Ingredients:
3 cups of pecans |
1 cup of sugar |
1/3 cup of water |
3 teaspoons of cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon of salt |
1/2 teaspoon of cloves |
1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract finest kind |
Directions:
1. Heat the oven 275 degrees. 2. Spray a nonstick cookie sheet with a cookie spray. 3. Spread the nuts on the cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. 4. In a sauce pan, combine all reamining ingredients except the vanilla; mix well and bring to a boil. Cook at rolling boil for two minutes, stirring occasionally. 5. Remove from heat. Add the vanilla and pecans. Mix well. 6. Spoon pecans on parchment paper and separate with a fork. 7. Cool for 30 minutes to harden into candy. Store tightly covered in a cool dry place. |
