A friend of mine shared this Old Fashioned Soft Sugar Cookie family recipe with me. I was thinking, you could even add a dash of ground ginger to give it a twist. Ingredients:
sift together in large bowl |
3-1/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
add |
1/2 cup soft butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla or fresh nutmeg (not too much) |
beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. |
add |
1/2 cup thick sour cream |
sifted flour mixture |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 - 400F degrees. 2. Beat at low speed until well blended (1-1/2 minutes). 3. Roll out lightly on floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. 4. Cut and sprinkle with sugar. 5. Place on a greased cookie sheet. 6. Dot a raisin or 2 in the middle of each cookie and bake for about 12 minutes at 375 - 400 degrees. |
