Another one of my grandfather's recipes. Ingredients:
3 cups sifted flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup butter |
2 eggs |
1 cup sugar |
optional colored crystal sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. 2. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda. 3. Cut in butter as for pie crust. 4. Blend eggs and sugar in separate bowl, beat well. 5. Blend egg mixture into flour mixture. 6. Roll out mixture on floured pastry cloth or cutting board, to 1/4 inch thick. 7. Cut with 2 inch cookie cutter. 8. Lift with spatula to ungreased cookie sheets. Add colored sugar sprinkles now if using. 9. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes. 10. Remove from pan to cooling rack. |
