Made with whole wheat flour and lightened by 2 egg whites and baking powder...Cottage cheese replaces fat in recipe (oil, margarine or butter) Could use 1/4 applesauce and 1/4 cottage cheese... Ingredients:
4 tsp baking powder |
3 tsp brown sugar |
1 3/4 cups skim milk |
2 cups whole wheat flour |
1 large egg |
2 large egg whites |
1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese |
Directions:
1. Stir dry ingredients with wet and place quater cup at a time on to waffle iron and cook 3 to 5 minutes checking after 3 minutes. Add more calories if you drizzle hot waffles with maple syrup. Freeze any left overs. |
