I made these up myself after not being able to find a snickerdoodle recipe I liked. I love these! Everyone I give them to love them. I like the cinnamon in the actual cookie; it gives the cookies a good taste. Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg (large) |
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 1/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons milk |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Cream butter. 2. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla. 3. Mix well. 4. Add flour, cinnamon, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. 5. Mix (probably wont be smooth, just mix until it's incorporated). 6. Add milk. 7. Mix until thoroughly mixed (doughy, I used my hands). 8. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. 9. While refrigerating, mix the sugar and the cinnamon. 10. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. 11. Roll the balls in the sugar-cinnamon mixture. 12. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches (5 cm) apart. 13. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes. 14. Remove from pan immediately. 15. They taste the best still warm. |
