My grandmas go to recipe for a delicious yellow cake! Always reliable and always moist! Ingredients:
2 1/2c cake flour |
2 1/3tsp baking powder |
1/4tsp salt |
1 1/4c sugar |
3/4c butter |
8 eggs |
3/4c milk |
1tsp vanilla |
1tsp lemon juice or rind |
Directions:
1. Sift: flour, baking powder, and salt. 2. Cream: sugar and butter. 3. Beat egg yolks until it nearly makes peaks, then beat into butter mixture. 4. Combine with flour and milk alternating. 5. Add: vanilla and lemon juice(or rind). 6. Pour into two greased 2 x 8 round cake pans. 7. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. |
