Stumps Refridgerator Rolls |

Old fashioned rolls! My grandma got this recipe out of a magazine in the 40's and it has been a staple on holidays with very good reason! Ingredients:
2c likewarm water |
1/2c sugar |
1 1/2tsp salt |
2 packs dry active yeast |
1 egg |
1/4c soft butter |
6 1/2-7c flour |
Directions:
1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in water(let it start to foam). 2. Stir in one beaten egg and butter. 3. Begin adding flour stirring after each cup. 4. Eventually it will be so think you will need to use your hands. 5. Mix well and then let it rise for 2 hours. 6. Punch it down and roll it out. 7. Cut into strips with a pizza cutter and make braids. 8. Cut into desired legnth rolls and put onto ungreased cookie sheets. 9. Let rise another hour and a half. 10. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. |
