Grandmas old fahioned homemade pie crust. Ingredients:
1 1/4 sifted flour |
1/2tsp salt |
1/2c shortening |
2 1/2t cold water |
Directions:
1. Sift together flour and salt. 2. With a fork for pastry cutter, cut in shortening until it is the size of peas. 3. Sprinkle the cold water over different parts of the mixture. 4. Mix thoroughly with the pastry cutter until all particles cling together and form a ball of dough. 5. Roll out for pie crust and trim edges. 6. Prick bottom with a fork. 7. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. 8. *1 recipe for bottom only. 9. *Double recipe for bottom and top. |
