                    A wonderful blend of sweet and tangy! A family favorite! Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                1 box brown sugar  |  
                                                1/2 cube butter  |  
                                                1/4 c water  |  
                                                1/4 tsp salt  |  
                                                1/2 lemon  |  
                                                6 yams  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. steam yams in one inch of water(do not overcook). 2. cool and slip off the skins. 3. place flat side up in shallow baking dish. 4. make a few small knife slits in each yam. 5. combine ingredients in a saucepan. 6. heat on medium for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. 7. pour over yams. 8. sqeeze lemon juice over yams. 9. bake 20 to 30 minutes uncovered.                              |
