A sweet after dinner treat ! I got the idea from a recipe site and an idea from another recipe site to use vanilla instead of the orange liquor if desired. I have a dessert decorator I use all the time but found the tip to use a plastic bag with end snipped off along with one recipe and added that for anyone who was not aware it's a quick way to decorate if you do not have a decorator! Read more ! Hope it helps someone!! Ingredients:
strawberries-2 pints |
cream cheese-2 8 oz. pkgs.softened |
powdered sugar- 1 cup |
orange liquor or vanilla extract-about 2 tablespoons |
melted chocolate-your choice-bittersweet, semi-sweet or white-enough to drizzle over berries |
toasted sliced almonds-about 1/2 cup |
Directions:
1. Gently wash berries and dry. 2. Remove stems off tops and turn each berry over. 3. Gently make a crisscross cut into berry and fan out a bit. (opposite stem side!) 4. Mix softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and liquor or vanilla extract. 5. With a dessert decorator or a plastic bag with one corner cut, pipe the cream cheese mixture into the strawberry. 6. Drizzle melted chocolate over the berries and add a few toasted almonds on top 7. . Chill for the cream cheese and chocolate to harden. 8. Use both white and dark chocolate for presentation-delicious!! 9. I have drizzled a tiny bit of melted caramel over them for a dinner party once along with white and dark chocolate- they also were great! |
