I use onions in practically everything....To have one as a side on it's own is great for me because, yes, I am an onion lover Ingredients:
4 large onions, i use vidalia |
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs |
1/2 cup celery, finely chopped |
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
2 tsp. chili powder |
2 tsp. ground oregano |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 2. Core onion making it look like a bowl 3. Take core of onion and chop 4. In mixing bowl, mix together chopped onion, bread crumbs, celery, cornmeal, butter, chili powder and oregano 5. Fill each onion with filling 6. Put in baking dish 7. Add water to dish and cover 8. Bake at 400 degrees until onions are tender, about 35 minutes |
