This is a very popular appetizer. I always get asked to make it for parties. They go very quickly. Ingredients:
per 8 oz of mushrooms |
1 package of cream cheese |
a cup of parmesan cheese |
3 tbls. or so of minced garlic |
salt and pepper to taste. |
Directions:
1. I microwave everything but the mushrooms together until it is melty. 2. Wash mushrooms. 3. Cut off just enough of the stem to get any yucky stuff off. 4. Then remove the stems, leaving you with the mushrooms caps. 5. Put the mushroom caps in a shallow baking pan. 6. Take the stems and finely chop them. 7. Add the stem bits to the cream cheese mixture. 8. Give it a taste and see what you think. 9. Make sure there is enough garlic, as it the garlic will mellow as the mushrooms bake. 10. Put the filling in each mushroom cup. 11. You will most likely have leftover filling. You can eat this with crackers. 12. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes. 13. I check on them after 15 minutes. 14. If you want, you can pour off some of the liquid while it is baking. 15. The tops should be browned. |
