An appetizer to please the mushroom lover. It takes a little more time to prepare but they are worth it. Serve them warm and they will be a hit at any gathering. Ingredients:
4 slices of bacon (fried, drained & crumbled) |
large (8 oz) fresh white button mushrooms (cleaned, stems removed) |
2 tablespoons mayonaise |
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (marble or mont. jack) |
1 tablespoon finely chopped sweet onion |
Directions:
1. Gently remove stems from mushrooms and discard. 2. Combine your cheese, mayo, onion and bacon. 3. Stir thoroughly. 4. Fill caps (mound them up) 5. The recipe calls for a 10x6x2 pan but I've used all different sizes depending on how many mushrooms I was making. 6. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. 7. Serve warm. 8. I have made about 15-20 mushrooms in one recipe (depends on the size of the mushroom). |
