This recipe was handed down from a friend of my Grandma's, and my whole family swears by it. I've made it handfuls of times and it's always a hit! Ingredients:
2 lbs button mushrooms, tops only |
5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled |
1/4 cup mayonnaise |
1/2 medium onion, diced |
3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded |
1 pinch salt |
Directions:
1. Take out stems of mushrooms and thoroughly wash. 2. Spread each mushroom out on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with salt (you can also soak them in salt water for two hours prior to filling them, but I never have the time!). 3. Mix together the rest of the ingredients and stuff each mushroom till full. 4. Bake mushrooms on a pan at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. 5. You can also make these ahead of time and refridgerate (covered) up to a day or two in advance. 6. Eat up! |
