These are always a crowd pleaser...great for appetizers, tail gate parties and grilling! Ingredients:
8 whole, fresh jalapenos |
1/2 block cream cheese, softened |
fresh basil chopped, or basil in the tube |
1-2 tsps garlic powder |
bacon strips cut in half |
toothpicks |
Directions:
1. Combine 1/2 block of softened cream cheese with 1 TBS basil. (or several fresh basil leaves, chopped....to taste) 2. Add garlic powder 3. Wearing gloves, slice each jalapeno lengthwise 4. remove seeds and membrane 5. Spread cream cheese mixture into jalapeno halves and wrap each with a 1/2 slice of bacon 6. Secure with toothpick that you have soaked in water 7. Put under broiler until bacon is crisp....5-10 minutes. 8. These are approximate measurements.....Just do it to your particular taste! Fresh chives are good in it, too! It is also great to throw on the grill, instead of broiling! |
