An old family recipe in French Canada - les petits pains fourrés - we bring them out at New Years, Christmas and any other time we get together. Ingredients:
1t cooking oil |
1 lb extra lean ground beef |
1/4 cup diced onion |
1 can chicken gumbo soup |
2t ketchup |
1t prepared mustard |
24 small (salad) buns |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in skillet 2. Cook onion until transparent 3. Add ground beef and brown 4. Add soup, ketchup and mustard 5. Simmer for 1 hour 6. Remove from stove 7. Slit buns 8. Add 1-2 spoonfuls of meat mixture to each bun (depends on size of bun!) 9. Heat in oven at 350 for 10 minutes so that buns are crispy. 10. Serve. |
