This is a stuffed pepper recipe that I have used for years. My whole family loves it! Ingredients:
6 medium green peppers |
1 lb ground beef |
1/3 cup onion, chopped |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can stewed tomatoes |
3/4 cup minute rice, cooked |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
salt and pepper |
1 cup shredded cheese (i use colby & monterey jack) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F 2. Cut off tops of green peppers; remove seeds and membrane. Precook green peppers cups in boiling salted water, about 5 minutes. Drain; sprinkle inside with salt. 3. Brown meat and onions. Add tomatoes, rice, Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer until rice is almost tender, about 5 minutes. 4. Add 1/2 cup cheese. 5. Stuff peppers and stand upright in 10 x 6 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. 6. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 25 minutes or until hot. |
