Ingredients:
4 large granny smith apples |
1/4 cup mincemeat |
1/4 cup golden raisins (optional) |
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut up |
1/4 cup honey |
3/4 cup madeira wine |
vanilla ice cream or whipped topping |
Directions:
1. Core apples, cutting to but not through bottom ends. Fill each apple evenly with mincemeat and, if desired, raisins. Arrange in a lightly greased 9-inch square baking dish. Dot with butter, and drizzle with honey. Pour wine into dish. 2. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until tender, basting often. Serve with ice cream. 3. * 3/4 cup apple juice may be sustituted for wine. |
