Streusel-topped Peach Pie |

This is a twist to the Peach Pie. The streusel makes an excellent topping and gives it a bit of texture. Ingredients:
1 pkg. (15-oz.) all-ready pie crust or 1 9-in. frozen pie crust, thawed |
filling |
4 cups sliced peeled peaches or 2 (29-oz.) cans peach slices,well drained |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1/3 cup flour |
1/2 tsp. cinnamon |
topping |
3/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1/2 tsp. cinnamon |
1/3 cup margarine or butter |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Prepare pie crust according to package directions for filled one-crust pie using 9-inch pie pan. (Refrigerate remaining crust for a later use.) 3. In a large bowl, combine all filling ingredients; mix well. 4. Spoon into pastry-lined pan. 5. In a medium bowl, blend all topping ingredients together with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly. 6. Sprinkle over filling. 7. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until topping is golden brown. 8. I cover the edge of crust with strips of foil after about 15-20 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning |
