Here is a quick and easy dessert that will impress everyone. The kids will love putting this together with Mom's help. Ingredients:
1 (300 ml) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (regular or low-fat) |
2 cups thick plain yogurt |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
1 tablespoon lemon rind |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 lb cake (pound cake, cubed) |
4 cups freshe strawberries, sliced |
Directions:
1. LEMON CREAM: Combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl. Set aside 5 minutes, mixture will thicken. 2. ASSEMBLY: Place 1/4 of cake cubes in the bottom of a 10 cup glass trifle bowl. Cover with 1 cup of sliced strawberries, followed by 1/4 of the lemon cream mixture. Continue layering, ending with lemon cream. Chill for at least 2 hours. Serve. 3. NOTE: You can replace the strawberries with any other berry. 4. Trifle can be made a day ahead of time. |
