I saw this recipe in a very old cook book. It sounded great so I had to share it!!!! Ingredients:
4 cups fresh strawberries |
1/2 cup sugar |
4 pieces toasted bread |
Directions:
1. Rinse berries and put in pot, add sugar and cover with cold water. 2. Remove strawberries to a warm dish. 3. Cut toast into halfs (diagonally.). 4. Dip in pot liquor to soften, put toast on plate. 5. Cover with strawberries and sirup from pot. |
