This is a wonderful, healthy spinach salad with its own dressing. It has been a hit every time I make it! Ingredients:
dressing |
2 tablespoons sesame seeds |
1 tablespoon poppy seeds |
1/8 cup sugar |
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil |
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar |
1/4 teaspoon paprika |
1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon red onion, minced |
salad |
10 ounces fresh spinach, rinsed, dried and tron in bite-size pieces |
1 quart strawberries, cleaned, hulled and sliced |
1/4 cup almonds, blanched and slivered |
fresh ground pepper |
mix of feta and bleu cheese (optional) |
Directions:
1. DRESSING 2. In medium bowl, whisk all dressing ingredients. Cover and chill at least 1 hour. 3. SALAD 4. In large serving bowl, combine spinach, strawberries, almonds and cheeses. Pour dressing over salad and toss. Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes before serving. |
