This is my interpretation of a strawberry smoothie. I use buttermilk instead of yogurt. I use frozen strawberries instead of ice. I peel and use ripe bananas sometimes but mostly I peel the bananas when they are ripe and store them in a pastic bag in the refrigerator for up to a week or two. Extra amounts of Splenda adds dimension to the tart buttermilk taste. Add a cup of ice cream to the mix and call it a strawberry milk shake. Ingredients:
1 banana, ripened and peeled |
2 cups buttermilk |
2 tablespoons orange juice |
2 cups frozen strawberries |
8 (1 g) packets splenda sugar substitute |
Directions:
1. Add the banana, orange juice, buttermilk and Splenda to a blender. Add 4 or 5 strawberries. Blend until smooth. Continue to add strawberries and blend until the desired smoothie consistency is reached. |
