absolutely delicious! after brushing with glaze..you can sprinkle with additional sugar if desired Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/3 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup butter |
1 large egg, beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 cup whipping cream |
1/4 cup buttermilk |
1 cup strawberry, hulled and sliced |
1 large egg, beaten |
1 tablespoon whipping cream |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl; cut in butter with a pastry cutter until coarse crumbs form. 2. Form a well in the center; set aside. 3. Whisk egg, vanilla, cream, and buttermilk together; 4. Stir into dry mixture until just moistened. 5. Fold in strawberries; gently knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth.about 10 seconds. 6. Pat into a 7 circle about 1 thick. 7. Slice into 8 wedges - arrange on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. 8. To prepare GLAZE: 9. Combine egg and whipping cream.whisk till frothy. 10. Brush with glaze and sprinkle with additional sugar is desired. 11. Bake at 375° until golden, about 15 minutes. 12. Cool on a wire rack. |
