Strawberry Sauce Over Vanilla Ice Cream |

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
2/3 cup cold water |
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries, divided |
1 tablespoon butter or margarine |
vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan; gradually add water, stirring well. Add 1/2 cup strawberries. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat; add butter, stirring until butter melts. Stir in remaining strawberries. Cover and chill thoroughly. Serve over vanilla ice cream. |
