Strawberry Pretzel Dessert |

I've tasted many versions of this recipe but this is my favorite. Ingredients:
crust |
2 cups crushed pretzels |
3/4 cup butter-melted |
3 tablespoons sugar |
filling |
2 cups whipped topping |
1 8oz package cream cheese-softened |
1 cup sugar |
topping |
2 3oz packages strawberry gelatin |
2 cups boiling water |
2 16oz packages frozen sweetened sliced strawberries-thawed |
additional whipped topping-optional |
Directions:
1. Crust: 2. In a bowl,combine pretzel,butter,and sugar. 3. Press in ungreased 9 x 13 x 2 baking dish. 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. 5. Cool completely. 6. Filling: 7. In small mixing bowl,beat whipped topping,cream cheese,and sugar until smooth. 8. Spread over crust. 9. Refrigerated until chilled. 10. Topping: 11. In a large bowl,dissolve gelatin in boiling water. 12. Stir in strawberries with syrup. 13. Chill until partially set. 14. Carefully spoon over filling. 15. Chill 4-6 hours or until firm. 16. Serve with additional topping if desired. |
