Connie's recipe from family collection. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1/2 cup oleo |
1/2 cup nuts |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1/4 cup cornstarch |
1 1/2 cups water |
1 pinch salt |
1 (3 ounce) box strawberry jell-o gelatin dessert |
1 quart fresh strawberries |
Directions:
1. Crust: Mix first four ingredients well. Press into a 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until light brown. 2. Filling: Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, cornstartch, salt and water in a saucepan. Stir and bring to a boil until mixture is white and clear. Then add strawberry jello into hot mixture. Let cool. Add fresh strawberries, pour into deep dish. Refrigerate until set. 3. Serve with whipped cream. |
