This makes a great breakfast treat, after school snack, or dessert. I just put the peeled half orange in which makes pulpy pieces of orange throughout. If you prefer your drinks smoother, just add the juice of the half orange. Ingredients:
1/2 blood orange (juice of or peeled and sectioned) |
4 ounces frozen strawberries (about 9 strawberries) |
1 eggs or 1/4 cup egg substitute |
1/4 cup low-fat milk |
1 -2 tablespoon honey |
1/2 teaspoon powdered coffee creamer |
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 cup water (optional) |
Directions:
1. Place orange sections or juice, strawberries, egg, milk,1 Tablespoon honey, coffee creamer, and vanilla extract into a blender and blend until smooth. 2. Add additional honey to taste. Add 1/4 cup water to thin if desired. Serve in a pretty glass and enjoy. 3. Note: Pregnant women, children, the elderly or people with compromised health should use the egg substitute in place of the raw egg. |
